Our Team

Amy Lewis, CPB

Hi, I'm Amy!

First off, I’m not here to make you feel badly about your shoebox of coffee-stained receipts. With so much fear and shame around the topic of money, the last thing you need is a judgemental bookkeeper!

Let’s cut to the chase. If you don’t have a handle on your money situation, your business won’t thrive - that’s where I can help. With 15 years of accounting and finance experience, working with me means bullet-proof finances and more peace of mind for you. Achieving an Advanced Diploma in Accounting, working with small businesses at a public accounting firm and being a QuickBooks ProAdvisor all contribute to the expertise I use to support my dedicated client base (My team and I serve 30+ businesses!).

The endgame for me? Empowering you. Helping Simcoe County business owners stress less and start to thrive is what gets me up each morning. Oh, and also my dog - he enjoys his breakfast at 5am! I’m hopeful that through our work together you’ll learn to love spreadsheets instead of fear them. Being able to get a pulse check on your finances at any given moment means you can make knowledgeable decisions and grow your business.

When the number crunching is done, I dive into the arts. My favourite times are when I can lose myself in movement and music, whether that’s musical theatre, contemporary dance or playing my trumpet. Giving back to the community is fulfilling for me and I donate my time and expertise to The Lighthouse, Simcoe Contemporary Dancers, and the Muskoka Concert Band.

Everyone has a right to financial literacy and I'm honoured to do this work.

Ambassador of Awesome

Vanessa Arreaga

Intermediate Bookkeeper

Meet Vanessa!

While Vanessa was taking a Business Administration course, she was eager to get hands-on experience - so connecting with Sunshine Books Inc. was perfectly timed! The skillsets she built while completing the Trifold Bookkeeping Fundamentals Course has set her up to succeed, but it’s her flexibility and knack for building relationships that makes her an invaluable part of the team.

Her previous role as Operations Manager at Banana Republic Factory taught her so much about resolving issues quickly and seamlessly; a trait our clients are grateful for.

When she’s not handling your books like a pro, you can find her relaxing by the lake, enjoying a competitive game of cornhole, or putting bling to canvas on a beautiful diamond painting. She’s looking forward to becoming CPB certified and giving back to the Orillia community as a volunteer in the future.

Vanessa was named CPB Canada's 2023 Emerging Leader of the Year.

Aileen Garcete

Tax Preparer & Junior Bookkeeper

Meet Aileen!

Though her love for animals led her to complete the veterinary assistant program at Seneca, her allergies had other ideas! Coming from a family that’s mostly in finance, Aileen had support to pursue a different path and has been excelling ever since (with honours!). She joined us full-time after a successful co-op placement through the Business Accounting program at Georgian College.

Her ability to build trusting relationships comes naturally, having honed those skills previously in a client-facing role at TD Bank. She feels a sense of pride when acting as a pillar of support for clients during a stressful tax season, and that’s magnified when she bridges communication using her bilingual language skills (English/Spanish).

In her downtime she enjoys bonding with her two precious cats, Mino and Mia, playing badminton and downhill skiing. Her goals for the future include a return to South Africa where she volunteered at a wildlife sanctuary, and owning a property where she can house chickens, goats, cows and foster cats.
